We all know that every southern belle should know her way around the kitchen, and in addition every southern belle extraordinaire uses an adequate amount of pecan halves. palates you are also providing a delicacy that is aesthetically pleasing. For instance, my mother-in-law makes the most amazing banana nut cake with cream cheese frosting that you will ever taste. Our family is lucky to have this cake at several of our family meals throughout the year. Without the use of these delicious nuts the cake is appetizing, but not something you would necessarily enter into an award winning contest. But once she lines the border of this cake with pecans it is transformed into a masterpiece and almost brings a tear to my eye when we cut the first slice. Of course, I quickly get over my tearful moment and am pleased to savor every bite of the slice she hands me. I know you have a recipe that is a treasure in your home as well.
